Family Re-Union 9: Families and Seniors Across the Generations

This year we offer down link audiences several options:

  • View the morning program live from 8:30 am to 12:10 pm CST, turn off the satellite transmission and conduct your own community conversations over lunch, and tune in from 3:30 – 4:45 for the afternoon session.
  • View a re-broadcast of the morning program from 12:15 pm to 3:15 pm CST, followed immediately by the afternoon session, which runs from 3:30 to 4:45 pm. This option provides 4 and a half hours of continuous satellite programming. Sites choosing this option are encouraged to hold their own community conversations before or after the broadcast.

10:35 am PANEL DISCUSSION

"Caring for Each Other: What Are the Critical Issues?"

Leaders in the field discuss the most pressing problems facing all generations as they care for one another, and they also offer some promising solutions.

 

11:35 am FILM

"Elders Through the Eyes of Children"

Documentary film interviewing children on their relationships with older family members.

 

11:55 pm CHARGE TO THE WORKING GROUPS

Remarks by Tipper Gore

 

12:10 pm END OF MORNING SESSION

 

12:15 – 3:15 pm Re-broadcast highlights of the morning program

 

3: 30 pm FINAL SESSION

"Into the Future Across the Generations: What does the Future Hold?"

The Vice President and others outline future steps and initiatives that support intergenerational activity.
