- Father to Father/FatherNet.
A project of the University of Minnesota's Children, Youth, and Family
Consortium. FatherNet produces information on the importance of fathers,
fathering and how fathers can be good parents and parent educators.
It includes research, policy and opinion documents to inform users about
the factors that support and hinder men's involvement in the lives of
children. FatherNet also contains links to other web resources on the
role of men in the lives of children and information regarding Father
to Father.
- The Fatherhood Project.
The Fatherhood Project(r) is a national research and education project
that is examining the future of fatherhood and developing ways to support
mens involvement in child rearing. Its books, films, consultation,
seminars, and training all present practical strategies to support fathers
and mothers in their parenting roles. The Fatherhood Project(r) is the
longest-running national initiative on fatherhood--founded in 1981 at
the Bank Street College of Education in New York City and relocated
in 1989 to the Families and Work Institute.
- National Practitioners
Network for Fathers and Families. The Network seeks to strengthen
supports for children in fragile families by enhancing the involvement
of fathers: and fostering communication, program development, education
and collaboration among service providers. [Service Provider: An individual
or agency that practices an art or discipline aimed at strengthening
families by increasing involvement of fathers in their children's lives.]
- National Fatherhood Initiative.
The mission of the National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) is to improve
the well-being of children by increasing the number of children growing
up with loving, committed and responsible fathers. A non-profit, non-sectarian,
non-partisan organization, NFI conducts public awareness campaigns promoting
responsible fatherhood, organizes conferences and community fatherhood
forums, provides resource material to organizations seeking to establish
support programs for fathers, publishes a quarterly newsletter, and
disseminates informational material to men seeking to become more effective
fathers.
- National Fathers' Network.
The National Fathers Network (NFN), a non-profit organization funded
by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, advocates for men as crucially
important in the lives of their families and children. We provide supports
and resources to fathers and families of children with developmental
disabilities and chronic illness, and the professionals who serve them.
The NFN develops support programs; produces curriculum and trainings
for health care providers and educators, and a wealth of other innovative
resources.
- National Center on Fathers
and Families<. The mission of the National Center on Fathers and
Families (NCOFF) is to improve the life chances of children and the
efficacy of families and to support the conduct and dissemination of
research that advances the understanding of father involvement. Developed
in the spirit of the Philadelphia Children's Network's (PCN) motto,
Help the children. Fix the system., NCOFF seeks to increase and enrich
the possibilities for children, ensuring that children are helped and
that the system allows for the participation of fathers in their children's
lives. NCOFF shares with PCN the premises that children need loving,
nurturing families; that families need to be supported in providing
nurturance; and that family support efforts should increase the ability
of mothers, fathers and other adults within and outside the biological
family to contribute to the child's development.
- Institute for Responsible
Fatherhood and Family Revitalization. The Institute for Responsible
Fatherhood and Family Revitalization is a home-based grassroots non-profit
501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to encouraging fathers to become involved
in the lives of their children in a loving, compassionate, and nurturing
way. The program began sixteen years ago in Cleveland, Ohio and to date
has served more than 4,000 fathers, including those served in Milwaukee
Wisconsin; Nashville, Tennessee; San Diego, California; Washington,
D.C.; and Yonkers, New York.
- National Center for Fathering.
Our mission at the National Center for Fathering (NCF) is to inspire
and equip men to be better fathers. In response to the dramatic trend
toward fatherlessness in America, the Center was founded in 1990 by
Dr. Ken Canfield to conduct research on fathers and fathering and to
develop practical resources for dads in nearly every fathering situation.
- American Coalition for Fathers and Children.
We, the members of the American Coalition for Fathers and Children,
hereby dedicate ourselves and our efforts to the creation of a family
law system, legislative system, and public awareness which promotes
equal rights for ALL parties affected by divorce, and the breakup of
a family or establishment of paternity. It is our belief through our
involvement and dedication, we can have a positive effect on the emotional
and psychological well-being of children.
